MAILGENT
Shopify

USDC checkoutfor any Shopify store.

Install the Mailgent Pay app from the Shopify App Store and the next checkout shows USDC alongside cards. Orders flow into the Shopify admin you already use. Refunds, customer records, fulfillment — all in the same place, nothing new to learn.

Most crypto payment apps for Shopify are bolt-ons: they ship a parallel admin, a parallel reporting surface, and a parallel ledger. Six months in, the merchant has two sources of truth and a reconciliation nightmare. Mailgent Pay is installed as a native Shopify payment method — every USDC order is a regular Shopify order, with the gateway tagged. Refunds happen in the admin you already use. Reporting flows through the same exports. Customers, products, inventory, and fulfillment behave exactly the way they always did.

How it works

Four steps. Most fire in under a second.

01

Install from the App Store

Search 'Mailgent Pay' in the Shopify App Store. Install. Authorize the standard Shopify scopes (read_orders, write_orders, read_inventory). The connection takes about 30 seconds.

02

Enable the payment method

In Shopify admin → Settings → Payments → Manual payment methods, enable Mailgent Pay. Optionally enable test mode to dry-run with simulated USDC before going live.

03

Customers check out

On the next checkout, customers see USDC as a payment method. They sign with their Mailgent wallet (or connect an external wallet). The order appears in admin as paid, gateway = Mailgent Pay.

04

Fulfill, refund, report — as usual

Fulfillment, refunds, and reporting all run through the standard Shopify admin. The Mailgent app surfaces extra detail (chain link, signed receipt) but does not replace the admin you already know.

What you get

Built for developers who already shipped.

App Store install

Find Mailgent Pay in the Shopify App Store, click install, complete a 60-second connection flow. The next checkout offers USDC as a payment method beside the merchant's existing gateways.

Native order sync

Every USDC order appears as a regular Shopify order with the Mailgent Pay gateway tagged. Fulfillment, inventory, customer history, and notifications all behave the way merchants expect.

Automated payouts

USDC accumulates in the project wallet. Schedule daily, weekly, or threshold-based payouts to a treasury address or off-ramp partner. No 1099-K surprises; the activity log shows every payout with a chain link.

Refunds in the admin

Issue a refund the standard Shopify way (full or partial). The Mailgent Pay gateway signs the reversal, sends USDC back to the buyer wallet, updates the order status, and fires the refund webhook.

On-chain audit trail

Every order links to a Base transaction. Auditors see a one-to-one mapping between Shopify order number, Mailgent signed receipt, and on-chain settlement. Reconciliation takes minutes, not days.

Hydrogen + Shop Pay aware

Works with custom storefronts (Hydrogen, Oxygen, headless) through Shopify Functions. Plays well with Shop Pay — Mailgent shows up as an additional method, not a replacement.

What people build

Real-world shopify flows shipping today.

DTC

Apparel + consumer goods

Add USDC to a DTC store that already takes Shop Pay and credit cards. The treasury picks up a low-friction crypto-native customer segment without disrupting the existing checkout.

Digital

Digital products + downloads

Sell PDFs, software licenses, video content. USDC is a perfect fit for cross-border digital sales — no FX, no card decline, no chargeback risk on intangible goods.

B2B

Wholesale + B2B orders

Large orders that exceed daily card limits or trigger fraud holds settle cleanly in USDC. No multi-day clearing, no manual treasury wire reconciliation.

Subscription

Subscription boxes

Mailgent mandates power recurring USDC charges. Customers grant a monthly cap at signup; the Shopify subscription app charges on the cycle without re-prompting.

FAQ

Things builders ask.

Does this replace Shopify Payments?
No. Mailgent Pay is added as a payment method alongside whatever the merchant already uses (Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal). Customers pick what they want at checkout. Most merchants offer Mailgent Pay as an additional option, not a replacement.
Does it work with Shopify Markets?
Yes. USDC is a single global currency on Base, so it sidesteps the FX and per-market gateway complexity. Markets-specific routing rules still apply if you want to restrict USDC to certain regions.
What about fraud and risk?
USDC settlement is final, so the chargeback class of fraud doesn't apply. For account-takeover or stolen wallet fraud, Mailgent supports per-merchant velocity rules and the standard Shopify risk-analysis hooks. Risky orders can be auto-cancelled before fulfillment.
How are taxes calculated?
The Mailgent Pay app respects whatever tax engine the store has configured (Shopify Tax, TaxJar, Avalara). Tax shows up on the line items the same way it would for a card order.
What happens on a refund?
Click refund in Shopify admin (full or partial). The Mailgent Pay app signs the reversal, sends USDC from the merchant wallet back to the buyer wallet, updates the order status to refunded, and fires the refund webhook. The activity timeline records the reversal with a chain link.
What does it cost?
First $100 of revenue is always free. After that, 5% on settled USDC orders — waived for now. No monthly fee; no per-order minimum.
Where can I find the app?
Mailgent Pay is listed in the Shopify App Store. Direct link is on the Pay → Shopify page in the Mailgent docs. The app passes Shopify's app review and uses only the scopes required for payment processing.
Does it work with subscriptions?
Yes. Mailgent Pay integrates with Shopify's subscription contracts and with popular subscription apps (Recharge, Skio, Stay AI). Recurring USDC charges ride on Mailgent mandates; the customer authorizes a cap and frequency at signup.
